Personal trainers in Clapham

Clapham is one of the busiest training spots in south London, and almost all of it happens on the Common: 220 acres of flat open grass, long perimeter paths and an outdoor gym. Sessions in SW4 split between park bootcamps and one-to-one work in the small studios around the High Street and Old Town.

Where people train in Clapham

Clapham Common

The default Clapham session — flat open grass for circuits and sprints, a long perimeter loop for intervals, plus an outdoor gym area near the bandstand.

Wandsworth Common

Quieter than Clapham Common, with tree-lined paths and sheltered lawns — better for one-to-one strength, mobility and beginner work.

Battersea Park

A short hop north, with riverside running paths, an athletics track nearby and big lawns for group conditioning.

Agnes Riley Gardens

Small and calm on the Clapham–Balham border, handy for short lunchtime sessions and low-impact or post-natal work.

Clapham Common, Clapham North and Clapham South are all on the Northern line, with Clapham High Street on the Overground and Clapham Junction a short ride away, so trainers covering SW4 usually also travel to Battersea, Balham and Brixton.

Personal training in Clapham — questions

+How much does a personal trainer in Clapham cost?

Most one-to-one sessions in Clapham are priced between £30 and £60 an hour, set by each trainer. Rally adds a flat £2.50 booking fee per private session and £1 per open class place — there's no membership or subscription. Booking regularly? Many trainers also offer blocks of 3, 5 or 10 sessions.

+Do I have to buy a gym membership to train in Clapham?

No. Plenty of trainers in Clapham work outdoors, usually in Clapham Common, with no venue cost at all. If you book a trainer who works from a gym, you'll pay that gym's day pass on the day — the price is shown on their listing before you book, and Rally only lists gyms that sell day passes.

+Can I book a single session, or a block?

Both. Book one session, or a block of 3, 5 or 10 one-hour sessions with the same trainer, picking every date from their live diary. Your card is authorised, and you're only charged once the trainer accepts. You can still reschedule any single session in a block.

+What happens if I need to cancel?

Cancel more than 24 hours before the session and you're refunded everything you paid, booking fee included. Inside 24 hours, half the session fee goes to the trainer for the time they've held and the booking fee isn't returned. If the trainer cancels, you're refunded in full — booking fee included — or offered an alternative time.

+Are trainers in Clapham insured and qualified?

Every trainer on Rally submits their insurance details and qualifications, and we check them before their listing goes live. You can see their credentials on their profile before you book.

+Can I train outdoors in winter in Clapham?

Yes — most outdoor trainers run through the winter, moving to firmer paths and sheltered corners of Clapham Common when the ground is wet. If you'd rather be indoors, filter for gym-based trainers instead.
