What Rally is
Rally is a platform that connects independent personal trainers with clients looking to book sessions. We are not a personal training provider, an employer of trainers, or a party to the training relationship itself. The session — its content, quality, and delivery — is an arrangement between the trainer and the client. Rally provides the discovery, booking, and (once launched) payment infrastructure that connects the two.
Rally is not currently taking live bookings. Trainers can create profiles now; clients can join our waitlist to be notified when bookings open in their area.
Eligibility
You must be 18 or over to create an account, list as a trainer, or book a session on Rally.
Trainers must only offer coaching to adults (18+). Rally does not support listings or bookings involving under-18s or vulnerable adults, and trainers confirm this when they create a profile.
You warrant that all information provided is accurate when creating a profile or making a booking.
Trainer accounts and listings
- Creating a trainer profile is, and remains, free. There is no monthly fee and no listing charge.
- You set your own prices, availability, activities offered, and the areas and venues you work from.
- You are solely responsible for obtaining and maintaining any permission, licence, permit or consent needed to train clients where you work — including park, council or landowner permissions for outdoor sessions, and the gym or studio's agreement to coach paying clients on its premises. Rally does not obtain these for you, does not check that you hold them, and accepts no liability if you train without them.
- You're responsible for the accuracy of everything on your profile, including qualifications and insurance information you choose to display.
- You warrant, as a condition of listing your services on Rally, that you hold any qualifications you claim to have and that you only coach adults.
- Rally may review submitted qualifications and mark a listing as verified, but this is not a guarantee of a trainer's competence or suitability — see Qualifications and verification below.
- We may remove or suspend a listing in our sole discretion.
Booking a session
A booking request is held and not charged until the trainer accepts it. Once accepted, payment is taken for the session and Rally's booking fee (see Pricing and fees).
You're responsible for turning up to a session you've booked, in suitable condition and clothing, and for telling the trainer about anything relevant to your safety (injuries, medical conditions, medication) before the session starts.
Group bookings: if you bring others, the total price and per-person split is shown before you confirm. Everyone in the group is covered by the same booking.
Block bookings: some trainers let you book several one-to-one sessions in one go. As far as Rally is concerned, each session in a block is an individual booking — the same terms (including Cancellations and no-shows, dangerous weather and Disputes) apply to each session separately, and cancellation amounts and refunds are worked out from that session's share of the block price. Block booking is simply a way of booking more than one session in a single transaction: you pay for the whole block up front when the trainer accepts, and the sessions don't have to be used together.
Women-only trainers: some trainers choose to work only with women. Their listings are shown only to clients who have told Rally they identify as a woman. Rally relies on what you tell us and doesn't check identity, so please answer honestly.
Pricing and fees
Trainers set their own session prices. Rally takes a commission of 7.5% of the session fee on each booking that is completed. A booking is classified as completed if no dispute has been raised after 24 hours of the scheduled booking time. Nothing is charged for a month in which a trainer takes no bookings.
Clients pay a flat non-refundable booking fee to Rally on top of the session price: £2.50 for one-to-one or private group sessions, £1.00 for a place in an open class.
Where a session takes place at a gym or studio, any entry cost (such as a day pass) is payable by the client to that venue directly and is not part of the price shown on Rally. The expected cost is displayed on the trainer's profile and again before booking.
All prices are shown in GBP (exclusive of VAT) and include Rally's fee where applicable; they do not include any gym or studio entry cost.
Cancellations and no-shows
- A booking can be cancelled free of charge within 1 hour of being made.
- A client cancelling with more than 24 hours' notice before the session: full refund to the client, including booking fee.
- A client cancelling with less than 24 hours' notice: the client forfeits 50% of the session price to the trainer, as well as the booking fee.
- When a client cancels with less than 24 hours' notice, the time is released back into the trainer's diary so it can be booked by someone else; the trainer still receives their share of the forfeited amount.
- A trainer cancelling with more than 24 hours' notice: the client is refunded in full, including the booking fee. The trainer is liable to cover the booking fee, which is automatically debited from earnings accrued through Rally.
- A trainer cancelling with less than 24 hours' notice: the client is refunded in full, including booking fee. The trainer pays a cancellation charge equal to 10% of the session price as well as the booking fee, which is automatically debited from earnings accrued through Rally.
- If the client doesn't show up without cancelling, the trainer is paid in full and the client forfeits the booking fee.
- If the trainer doesn't show up, it is treated as a trainer cancellation with less than 24 hours' notice: the client is refunded in full, including the booking fee, and the trainer pays the booking fee plus a cancellation charge equal to 10% of the session price, automatically debited from earnings accrued through Rally.
- Rescheduling. Either party may ask to move a confirmed session to another free time in the trainer's diary, and the other may accept, offer another time, or decline. Accepting moves the session at no extra cost. If a new time is declined, the session stays booked while both parties try to agree a time. If no time can be agreed and the session is cancelled, the cancellation is treated as made by whichever party first asked to reschedule, and the cancellation rules above apply to that party based on the notice given at the time of cancelling.
- If both parties dispute who failed to show, Rally will review the booking and messages and make a decision — see Disputes between trainers and clients below.
Dangerous weather. Outdoor sessions and classes may need to be cancelled when conditions make training unsafe (for example storms, lightning, ice or extreme heat). A cancellation for dangerous weather is not an ordinary cancellation and does not automatically result in a refund or a credit: every one is reviewed by Rally.
- Either party may report dangerous weather by contacting Rally through the booking's Help button, or by choosing 'Dangerous weather' when cancelling. Cancelling for dangerous weather should be a last resort. Both parties are emailed immediately and must contact Rally straight away if they believe the session should not have been cancelled.
- Where Rally agrees the weather was dangerous, the client is not refunded. Instead the client is given the same session (or, for a class place, a place on another class) with the same trainer at no cost, with no booking fee. The replacement is booked in the usual way and, for a like-for-like session, is fully covered even if the trainer's price has since gone up; a larger or different booking is covered up to the original session price and the client pays only the difference. The trainer keeps the original session fee, which Rally holds and pays out once the replacement session has taken place. Rally keeps the booking fee and commission from the original booking.
- The replacement must be booked and completed within 3 months of Rally's decision. If it is not, the client's entitlement lapses and the held fee is paid to the trainer.
- If a replacement booking is declined, cancelled or expires before it takes place, the client's entitlement is restored for the remainder of the 3 months.
- Where Rally finds the trainer cancelled for dangerous weather when the session could reasonably have gone ahead, the client is refunded in full, including the booking fee. The trainer forfeits the session fee and pays a charge equal to 10% of the session price as well as the booking fee, automatically debited from earnings accrued through Rally, and may be removed from the platform.
- Where Rally finds the client cancelled for dangerous weather when the session could reasonably have gone ahead, the client forfeits the full amount paid; the trainer is paid for the session as normal and Rally keeps the booking fee and commission.
- Rally's decision on a dangerous-weather cancellation is made in good faith on the information available (including public weather records and the booking's messages) and is final, though this doesn't affect any other legal rights either party may have.
Open classes
Some trainers offer open classes — sessions where multiple clients can each book an individual place. Class places are subject to availability shown at the time of booking; a class showing spaces remaining may fill before your booking completes, in which case you won't be charged. Cancellation terms for class places, including cancellations for dangerous weather, follow the same rules as Cancellations and no-shows, applied to the class place price.
Gym and studio sessions
Where a trainer works from a gym or studio, that venue is not operated by Rally and Rally has no control over its facilities, staff, or policies. Any day pass or membership required is a separate arrangement between the client and the venue. Trainers warrant, when listing a gym or studio venue, that their arrangement with that venue permits them to coach paying clients there.
Conduct and safety
Rally has a zero-tolerance approach to harassment, discrimination, or abusive behaviour by either trainers or clients. Trainers and clients should communicate anything relevant to a session (medical conditions, access needs, changes of plan) through the platform where possible, so there's a record if a dispute arises. If you feel unsafe at any point, leave the situation and contact us. In an emergency, contact the emergency services first.
Qualifications and verification
Rally does not itself certify, train, or employ trainers. Where a trainer's profile shows a qualification or insurance as verified, this means Rally has reviewed evidence the trainer provided — it is not an independent check carried out by Rally, and Rally does not guarantee its continued validity. Clients should use their own judgement about what matters for the session they're booking, in the same way they would when hiring any independent service provider.

Our responsibility for loss or damage suffered by you
Whether you are a client or a trainer: we do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. We will not be liable to you for any loss or damage, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, even if foreseeable, arising under or in connection with (i) use of, or inability to use, our site, or (ii) use of or reliance on any content displayed on our site. In particular, we will not be liable for loss of profits, sales, business or revenue; business interruption; loss of anticipated savings; loss of business opportunity, goodwill or reputation; or any indirect or consequential loss or damage.

Disputes between trainers and clients
If a trainer and client disagree about what happened during or around a booking (for example, a disputed no-show, or a complaint about a session), Rally will review the booking record, any messages sent through the platform, and information from both parties, and make a decision in good faith. Rally's decision on refunds and charges relating to a specific booking is final, though this doesn't affect any other legal rights either party may have.
